RhythMods – Implementation and validation of a closed-loop neural interface to entrain brain rhythms and reduce motor symptoms in Parkinson’s Disease (HORIZON-MSCA-2023-PF-01-01, GA 101151398)

We will develop a novel closed-loop neural interface with the CNS using as input muscle recordings to determine the neural state of the oscillations that are targeted by stimulation, and as output transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation (tSCS), which will allow us to target neural rhythms in the CNS that are directly associated with pathological motor function in patients. The developed interface will be validated using extensive physiological tests in healthy volunteers and in a preliminary validation in patients with movement disorders.
