Flavio Palmieri
PHD Student
Biography
Flavio Palmieri received his B. Eng. (in
2015) and his M. Eng. (in 2018) in biomedical engineering from Universitá
Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy. Currently, he is an industrial Ph.D.
student in the joint Ph.D. program in biomedical engineering at Centre de
Recerca en Enginyeria Biomèdica, Universitat Politècnica de
Catalunya·BarcelonaTech, and Universidad de Zaragoza in collaboration with
Laboratorios Rubió S.A. and the Nephrology unit at Hospital Clínico
Universitario Lozano Blesa, Zaragoza, Spain.
The aim of his Ph.D., performed under the
supervision of Dr Pablo Laguna Lasaosa and Dr Pedro Gomis Roman, is to
investigate and to develop electrocardiogram-based indexes to robust,
non-invasively and continuously monitoring blood potassium concertation in
end-stage renal disease patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy.
