ABOUT ME
Alba Martín Yebra (Samper de Calanda, 1987).
She holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering (2011) and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (2012), both from the University of Zaragoza. In 2017, she obtained a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering in the framework of a joint PhD Programme between the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and the University of Zaragoza. Her research activity includes biomedical signal processing, with special interest in cardiovascular signals, particularly the analysis of ventricular repolarization dispersion, sudden cardiac death risk stratification, and atrial fibrillation.
After a year as a post-doctoral researcher at the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red (CIBER-BBN) within the BSICoS group, in 2019 she moved to the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Lund University (Sweden), where she enjoyed a one-and-a-half year post-doctoral contract in the Biomedical Signal Processing group. There she had the opportunity to gain experience in ECG signal processing, in particular in atrial fibrillation, an increasingly prevalent cardiac pathology. In September 2020 she re-joined BSICoS group at CIBER-BBN with a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship (2020-2023), where she continued as a senior postdoctoral researcher. From October 2024, she has incorporated as an ARAID researcher at the Aragón Institute of Engineering Research (I3A), University of Zaragoza, leading a research line within the BSICoS group, in which she integrates the knowledge acquired in risk stratification and mathematical modelling to AF.
She has developed her entire research career in a multidisciplinary and international environment, working in leading universities and research centres in Switzerland, Italy, Sweden and Spain, including collaborations with clinicians and engineers from different areas, and she has been recognised with several awards at international conferences.
