The overall aim of SUDDEN is to identify electrocardiogram (ECG) and genetic markers of sudden cardiac death (SCD) risk in individuals without known cardiovascular disease and to investigate their mechanisms and their association with SCD risk in different populations through a combination of data analysis, statistical genetics and artificial intelligence (AI). The three specific aims are:
– Aim 1: Development of an AI-based model able to predict SCD risk from the ECG from individuals without cardiovascular disease with a better performance than previously proposed ECG indices.
– Aim 2: Identification of common, rare and copy number variants significantly associated with SCD risk manifestations on the ECG.
– Aim 3: Assessment of the clinical utility of polygenic risk scores for ECG indices of SCD risk in different populations at risk.
