Wearables are a technological revolution and open the door to a new personal universe, but also to personalized medicine. The research project presented in this call includes 6 research groups from 6 autonomous communities (Asturias, Cádiz, Castilla la Mancha, Castilla y León, Madrid and Zaragoza), with a coherent multidisciplinary approach that encompasses researchers in the areas of sports science, medicine, nursing, mathematics and engineering, and who Its general objective is to examine the feasibility of implementing wearable technology in health care. primary care of the SNS, promoting precision preventive medicine and initially focusing care in personalized exercise medicine. The project entails several phases of external and internal validity, comprising: 1) laboratory studies and in free conditions to identify the indicators of physical activity and healthy physical condition of importance for medical and predictive use, using the wearable and the proposed methodology in the national IMPaCT cohort; 2) algorithm development mathematicians through massive data processing techniques and pattern detection; 3) create a easy and safe web platform for use in primary care compiling the algorithms validated in the previous phases that will allow to obtain a report with individualized exercise recommendations for the patient; and finally, 4) the effective validation of this tool in the daily routines of the professionals of this care level in two autonomous communities. This project could be a first step for the Spanish NHS to be a world pioneer in the use of wearables in clinical practice care.
