This project studies the potential for monitoring sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (SAHS) of a wearable armband that provides several electrocardiogram channels.

SAHS is a sleep disorder characterized by repetitive periods of interrupted or significantly reduced respiratory flow, that imply serious health consequences. This condition has a big socioeconomic impact that can be reduced with appropriate treatment. However, most of SAHS patients remain undiagnosed (>80%), and therefore untreated. An alternative SAHS diagnosis and monitoring based on wearable devices will reach a substantially larger population (thus reducing underdiagnosis), and allow for longer follow-up.
