From the brain to the heart: applications of dynamic systems analysis in biological models

In this project, neuronal and cardiac biological processes will be investigated. Techniques will be used to study the equilibria, periodic orbits and other invariants of the system as well as their parametric bifurcations. Through these techniques, the global dynamics of neurons and neuron networks, synchronization states of these networks and their possible control will be analyzed. On the other hand, a detailed study of the dynamics of cardiac models will be carried out and it will be related to the generation and maintenance of arrhythmias.
